In many cases, insurance covers our services (e.g., Aetna, Tricare, Federal BC/BS, Cigna Behavioral Health, ComPsych, United Behavioral Health, MHET Behavioral Health, Corphealth, Behavioral Health Systems, Value Options, NEAS). We will gladly file a client's insurance claim.
Though we attempt to keep our fee for services as low as possible, we realize that some clients are unable to afford professional counseling. To make counseling available to these individuals, Synergy contracts with churches to provide services at a discounted rate ($65) through the Membership Assistance Program (MAP). MAP is a practical, cost effective way to strengthen the local church through professional Christ-centered counseling, which allows pastors and staff to do their work more effectively. Pastors and church staff that refer those they are directly affiliated with can expect these individuals to be seen immediately and not turned away. Members of MAP churches and those who attend MAP churches are automatically qualified.
We appreciate your confidence in our services and will strive to serve you in a way that reflects our mission. We hope you will not hesitate to ask questions of your therapist or our office staff at anytime. It is important to us to understand any concerns you may have.
OFFICE HOURS - Our receptionist is generally available from 11 a.m., to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. If you call at a time when our receptionist is not in, you may leave a non-emergency message on our answering machine. Our telephone number is 256-979-1620.
EMERGENCIES - If you have an urgent concern, your counselor will try to schedule an appointment with you as soon as possible. If you are in an emergency situation and cannot reach your counselor, please contact your family physician or primary care physician, go to the nearest hospital emergency room, or call 911.
CANCELLATIONS AND/OR FAILED APPOINTMENTS - If you are unable to keep a scheduled appointment, please notify our office or leave a message on our voice mail at least 24 hours before your appointment time. Your scheduled time is reserved for you alone and, if not used by you, may prove to be a loss for someone else wishing to use that time.
CONFIDENTIALITY AND PERMISSION TO RELEASE INFORMATION - Information you provide during counseling is confidential except where disclosure is required by law. These exceptions, usually involving a threat of harm to self or others, will be identified should such situations arise. On occasion, your therapy may be assisted by requesting information from or sharing information with other professionals. No such contact will be made without your written permission.
